Leading brands often waste years on innovation strategies that don’t work. The typical path followed by many companies - Silicon Valley innovation tours, innovation gurus, hackathons, sprints, opening innovation labs and hiring expensive consulting firms - have proven to yield little success. This is particularly dangerous in a world where the rate of change is accelerating and new competitors, technologies and business models are causing disruption seemingly daily.
